Jean Monnet Grants

Jean Monnet activities support Higher Education Institutions inside and outside Europe to promote teaching and research on European integration and to promote policy debate and exchanges involving the academic world and policy-makers on Union policy priorities. The following sub-actions are supported: Jean Monnet Modules: short teaching programmes in one or more disciplines of European Union studies; Jean Monnet Networks in line with a specific theme linked to a Commission priority, will collect, share and discuss among partners, research findings, content of courses and experiences, products (studies, articles, content of courses, etc.).

Biography

Dr Sheetal Sharma is faculty at the Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has received JNU Research Excellence Award for outstanding contribution and excellence in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Young Scholars Category for the year 2018-19. Dr Sharma was selected for the prestigious European Union Visitors Program, 2020. She has been awarded a number of projects and financial grants funded under the framework of the Erasmus Program of the European Union and has been part of a number of international projects as a project investigator from India. She is a Course Coordinator for MOOCs Courses titled Sociology-I, and Sociology-III, and a Subject Matter Expert on the subject of Sociology, for School Education offered by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training), offered through SWAYAM platform of MHRD, Government of India. She has completed a Video Lecture Series in Sociology for CIET, NCERT' s project NROER (National Repository for Educational Resources and Training). Dr Sharma has published more than a dozen books (Authored and Edited) and 100 + articles, chapters and commentaries. She writes regularly on socially relevant issues in India and Europe for journals and magazines of national and international repute. She has also been invited as a discussant on a number of programs on radio and TV and has presented papers in national and international seminars and conferences.
